  • 10:00-11:00
Plenary lecture Some subjective thoughts about Bayesian statistics

Sonia Petrone (Full Professor and Director of the PhD in Statistics, Department of Decision Sciences, Università Bocconi, Milan, Italy)

Bayesian statistics has been impressively developing in the last decades and Bayesian methods are more and more popular in a wide range of applied fields. Somehow countertrend, this talk is a subjective look back, an excursus on a subjective non exhaustive choice of basic problems that perhaps are not so familiar to young Bayesians but may be worth to recall. Old problems, new challenges, theory and applications: there is a lot going on for young researchers and the aim of this talk is to encourage discussion from the floor more than giving definite solutions.
