The objective of the symposium is to present novel use of game and decision theory in reliability and risk analysis and to bring together researchers from disciplines such as economics, engineering, finance, mathematics, medical sciences, probability and statistics who have a lot to contribute to this theme. All sessions at the symposium will be plenary, with a mix of invited and contributed talks.
The symposium will be held in Belgirate at Hotel Villa Carlotta, self-described as "a romantic period mansion and an oasis of peace set in the greenery of its 30,000 sq. m. centuries-old garden on the luxuriant Piedmontese shore of Lake Maggiore".
The symposium will start on Thursday, May, 19th after lunch, and end on Saturday, May, 21st before dinner. Tutorials on Game Theory and Decision Analysis will be given by Prof. Marco LiCalzi and Prof. David Rios Insua, respectively, on May, 19th, in the morning.
A boat trip to Borromee Isles, with a tour of the magnificent Isola Bella, and Eremo (Hermitage) di Santa Caterina del Sasso, is sponsored by Institute for Integrating Statistics in Decision Sciences of George Washington University. The registration fee will include a welcome buffet (May, 19th) and a farewell dinner (May, 21st) on a terrace overlooking Lake Maggiore.
Belgirate is quite close to Milano Malpensa airport.
