This workshop will provide an opportunity to review, discuss and explore directions of development of Bayesian Inference in Stochastic Processes and in the use of Stochastic Processes for Bayesian Inference.
The Workshop will encourage discussion and promote further research in these fields. Theoretical and applied contributions are both welcome. A non-exhaustive list of topics includes Markov processes, state-space models, spatial, empirical, birth-death and branching processes, queueing, population modelling, signal processes, stochastic differential equations. The Workshop will thus be of interest to researchers and workers in both Bayesian Inference and Stochastic Processes.
A number of invited speakers will give talks, as well as numerous young researchers invited to contribute, throughout the 3 days. In addition BISP8 welcomes the submission of contributed talks and posters by December, 15th, 2012.
The Workshop follows the ones held in Madrid in 1998, in Varenna in 2001, La Manga in 2003, Varenna in 2005, Valencia in 2007, Bressanone in 2009 and Madrid in 2011. The Workshop is now held every other year, once in Italy and once in Spain.
The Workshop will be held in CNR-IMATI, Milan, starting the 6th in early afternoon and ending the 8th in the evening. We are happy to invite all the participants to a welcome buffet and a farewell dinner.
Information is available on:
The Workshop is organised by CNR IMATI (Istituto di Matematica Applicata e Tecnologie Informatiche - Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche), in cooperation with the George Washington University School of Business - Institute for Integrating Statistics in Decision Sciences.
The Workshop is endorsed by ISBA (International Society for Bayesian Analysis) and SIS (Società Italiana di Statistica).
BISP8 will follow the BAYESIAN YOUNG STATISTICIANS MEETING (BAYSM 2013), which is organized by the CNR-IMATI in the same venue.
