HOW TO GET TO BRESSANONE
(by public transportation)

Bressanone/Brixen is along the major railway line between Italy and Germany through Austria, which goes through Verona, Bolzano/Bozen and Innsbruck, where the closest airports are located.

Closest airports

  • Bolzano/Bozen
    The closest airport (30 minutes by train from Bolzano downtown to Bressanone) is served daily (except on Sundays, apparently) by Alitalia from Roma Fiumicino.
  • Verona
    The airport (2 hours by train from Verona downtown to Bressanone) is connected to many Italian and European cities (e.g. Frankfurt, London Gatwick, Munchen, Paris, Roma, Wien) by flights operated by major airlines (e.g. Air France, Alitalia, Lufthansa).
  • Innsbruck (Austria)
    The Austrian airport (90 minutes by train from Innsbruck downtown to Bressanone) is served by low cost companies (e.g. Easy Jet) from the UK and elsewhere, besides other companies from, e.g., Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Wien.
  • Bologna, Milano and Venezia are other relatively close Italian airports, but trains take 4-5 hours to reach Bressanone/Brixen.
